Dear musicians and dancers who love waltz music,

Mark your calendars for 5.00 pm, Sunday, August 9, 2026. We are organizing our 12th Flash Waltz in the lovely Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden.

This fun community event is free and open to everyone who would like to play/dance and enjoy the ambiance of a cool breeze, shady grass lanes, fragrant roses and beautiful music.

Here are the details:

The 90 minute Flash Waltz will be in the Northwest corner of The Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden, near the rose garden stair entrance, across the street from 6103 N. Albina Ave.

On Sunday, August 9, dancing starts promptly at 5:00 pm.

Check the weather forcast. If we get rained out or there are other unforeseen circumstances such as a wedding, 105 degrees or wildfire smoke, the backup date is Sunday, August 16, at 5:00 pm.

Musicians:

Try to find a parking spot and be setting up in the garden@ 4:15 pm. Bring a chair, music stand and wind clips for sheet music.

April 28th, 2026, the last Tuesday in April, we will select waltz tunes during the waltz jam at Marion's Home.

Printable sheet music, tune order will be available online a reasonable time before the flash waltz.

In order to use the park without a permit - No alcohol, no instrument amplifiers and the event is free.
